Web21. dec 2024 · My TopFin Silentstream 20 has been running strong on my 10g! For a cheap filter, they work great in my opinion, it you put them on a smaller tank they are rated for. They sometimes have problems when the "U" shaped intake tube is not fully pushed down and properly seated. Also, before plugging it back in, fill up the reservoir full of tank water. Webhang on back filter. It just sits on the edge of the tank with a chamber behind the tank. For a 10gal I would suggest a small sponge filter or aquaclear 20. Sponge filters are easier to clean but are unsightly. Aquaclear is an all around good hang on the back filter and won't require any modifications to work great.
